Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

This is a hidden gem! They are very welcoming and let you taste all the delicious meats before ordering. The roja pork was fantastic and a plate is plenty of food for two to share. The plate comes with meat, your choice of Mexican or cilantro-lime rice, beans, and a variety of salsas and homemade guacamole. They offer as many warm, fresh, homemade tortillas as you want to come with your meal. They make their HORCHATA fresh, as authentic Mexican style as you will find, and it is the best I have ever had!!! I will return every time I'm in the springs.

My favorite place to eat in the springs. Food is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. Everyone who works there, including the owner, is friendly and welcoming. They offer a sample of each of the delicious meats and are quick to tell you about the freshness if their ingredients. Tortillas are homemade and delicious, I often buy extras to bring home with me.
(5)Sonja J.
Delicious food!
(5)Christine W.
Delicious, fresh ingredients. The staff is super friendly. Everything, including the tortillas, are made in house and the quality shows. I had a burrito with the Verde beef - highly recommend! They even sell their tortillas by the dozen so you can enjoy them at home for your own taco night! I will have to come back and try the Breakfast burritos for the morning!
(5)Jim G.
If you like great food and great people you definitely want to try this place! There were 7 of us in our group and everyone agreed it was awesome. We were greeted at the counter and they invited us to sample each type of meat. Our favorites were the carnitas, rojos and the chicken. The barbacoa sample was amazing, but it wasn't ready yet when we were there. Everything was bursting with flavor and the owner and employees bursting with well deserved pride. "We are living our dream, even though we aren't actually getting much sleep"
(5)Maribel C.
Great service. The tortillas are delicious! The meat was a little bit salty for our taste, but nothing a little spicy salsa couldn't fix.
(4)Demetrius R.
Great burritos, it was good! I had the Barbados which was very good. Also, my wife said the carnitas is the best she has ever had! Yep, we'd do it again in a minute.
(4)Kent M.
Fresh and delicious, I love this place. The tortilla press is right behind the counter and the meats are obviously made with love.
(5)Mark E.
If you love the fast/fresh Mexican concept restaurants then you will love Azada. The food is delicious. The owner is very welcoming and explains all the fresh food he has prepared that day to include the house made tortillas. The first time I was there I had the verde pork which was infused with green chilies. The second time I ate there I had the rojo pork. I recommend them both. The seating area is good size, so finding a place to eat shouldn't be a challenge. The place is clean and I love the music..the were playing Motown music the last time I was there. If you are like me and like to support local flavors, go and try Azada. Same cost as going to to Chipotle or Qdoba, but its a local business. The only down part is that there is no soda fountain at Azada. They offer everything from iced tea to bottle Coke, but I'm a fan of self service fountain drinks. I recommend checking out Azada on your next lunch break.
(4)Humberto O.
Sopaipillas are legit so are the burritos, better and cheaper than chipotle. Only Mexican people I've seen since visting Colorado lol
(5)Alan D.
The savory and tender meats used, handmade salsas and tortillas made for the best burrito I have ever had. The owner let us sample everything to help us choose our own creation. Had sopapillas that were amazing.
(5)Darren R.
Very good carne asada. I had the burrito with carne asada, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, salsa. Really nice tortilla. Nice break from chipotle.
(4)V W.
The food was great! The people were very nice and welcoming, and I even got to test try the meat because it was my first time.
(5)Dave B.
ChipotWHO?! Azadas was amazing! Simple, fresh, delicious and most of all the customer service was outstanding! I highly recommend trying this little quaint joint, you won't regret it. My family and u will be back! Thanks
(5)Jack W.
WOW! Best Mexican I've had. We got the make your own burritos. They were huge. I say "were" because I ate it all; didn't put it down. The staff is very friendly and let us sample the meats. Everything is homemade and fresh and the food shows it. Highly recommended!!!
(5)Mary P.
Terrific food and a welcoming host who explains their fresh food and house-made philosophy. I had a terrific burrito and would recommend this small, friendly shop to anyone. Tortillas are made on site and you have lots of choices to fill your burrito. Reminds me of the old burrito places in the Mission back in the day. Very casual and priced for anyone.
(4)Anne B.
Seriously deserving of the 5 star rating! This literally is the BEST Mexican food I've had, and that's comparing casual and more "upscale" places. There are two restaurants I frequent when I'm in Chicago (where I live) and Azada blows their food out of the water! I went there for lunch with my sister and brother-in-law and the staff were so so friendly! I forgot who the lady was at the register but she gave the three of us samples of all the meat. If I could, I'd go back every day this week just to try each meat in its own burrito. Everything is freshly made and the tortillas, which is something I've never paid attention to, are some of the best I've had. They have their own distinct flavor, which is weird to say, but it's the kind of flavor that lets your tastebuds know that your mouth is munching on something fresh. As far as recommendations go, I'd definitely recommend the grilled chicken or barbacoa in a burrito with cilantro rice. Mmmmmmmm, a pool of saliva just formed in my mouth as I typed that out. Azada is pretty reminiscent of Chipotle in the way you can order burritos or burrito bowls and pick your ingredients, but there's no competition. I'm coming back for more food when I visit Colorado Springs again, Azada!
(5)Jim B.
Excellent food, very friendly service. Some of the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. Fantastic sopapillas!!
(5)Rachel W.
Tastes authentic and everything is fresh. This is definitely a hidden gem. I will never eat at Chipotle or Qdoba again!! The meats are all outstanding!!
(5)Esther V.
Excellent place! Food was fresh, fast and delicious. Friendly staff. I am surprised this place wasn't way busier. Wish we lived closer!
(5)TrevinoFamily H.
Delicious homemade Mexican food! Your dish prepared exactly as you wish, just like eating at Gramas house! Fresh Homemade tortillas too! A Great new restaurant right downtown, nothin fancy, come as you are :-)
(5)Andreana M.
Had the chicken my first time and tried the barbacoa this time. Delicious!! The seasoning and sauces are authentic and everything is homemade.
(5)Emily N.
Chipotle has nothing on this! Amazing, in-house-cooked food. They make everything from scratch, including their tortillas, which melt in your mouth. The owners are the ones who serve you your food, encourage you to sample all of their choices, and remember who you are. If you want the best burrito in Colorado Springs, this is the place to get it.
(5)Joel A.
Wow... Perfect burrito, great service, highly recommended. Bout time we had a spot like this downtown.
(5)Jesse T.
It is very important to review the reviews before eating out. As a result you will often eat exceptional food. This is a burrito joint that can totally compete with Chipotle! Chipotle haters, shut up. You obviously don't base your opinions on food taste and quality. Anyhow, this place has a really killer homemade tortilla. The meat selection is very cool with some spicy pork options that I tried each of. Tough choice. Ended up picking the barbacoa and it was awesome. Go out of your way for this place! They have homemade horchata that transported me right back to Hermosillo!
(5)Jill G.
Food is good and worth the price. Ambience is nothing, but if there's good food, I could care less about ambience!
(4)E G.
The food here is fresh, delicious, and inexpensive! I had the chille rellenos plate (came with spanish rice, 2 perfectly portioned enchiladas, and beans) and it was delicious. Sometimes I feel like portions at Mexican restaurants can get a little crazy... this was a really good amount! My friend got a burrito bowl (all the ingredients look fresh and they construct it right in front of you) and it looked soooo good... I liked my food, but I was very envious! I like their cilantro rice and their sopapillas are really light and taste super good!
(5)Marla R.
Some of the best tacos I've had! Hand-made tortillas and perfectly seasoned meat. A must go!
(5)Ian T.
Very good. I don't eat pork, but the rojo (spicy pork) was fantastic!! Me and my partner are down in colo springs for Memorial Day, and we're definitely making this place a must visit whenever we come down here! Also, the tortillas are to die for, some of the best homemade tortillas I have eaten in my life. Friendly service and free samples make me want to give this place more than 5 stars, but alas, I can't.
(5)Betty C.
Great flavors but fairly overpriced for the amount you get. $6.95 for 3 tiny and not very well filled tacos at counter service. $1.75 for literally two tablespoons of guacamole. The carnitas pork had the best flavor of all the meats I tasted. Tender and moist with a strong pork note. The shredded beef with green sauce was also tasty but not as much as the pork. The rojo was tasty but had nowhere near enough meat in it. The chili relleno was tasty as well with stringy cheese and a fresh fried batter.
(3)Thomas Y.
Hands down the best Mexican food in Colorado Springs... maybe even Colorado. The food here is fresh and simply delicious. I frequent El Paso and Juarez due to family being there and the food here taste like the places I've frequented down there. They make their own tortillas! Many of the self proclaimed authentic places in COs doesn't make their own tortilla! They order in. We're talking truly authentic stuff! So what to get? Honestly, you won't go wrong with anything, but the highlights are definitely the verde beef and grilled chicken. Get it on a plate, bowl, in a burrito, taco, whatever. I should also mention that the guacamole makes Chipotle's version taste canned. I love this place!
(5)Marika F.
Look below and you'll see a photo of creamy, cilantro-laced guacamole in a little plastic cup. This place is like Chipotle in so many ways. That isn't really a knock. To my knowledge this restaurant has only been opened for a couple of years but it feels like the kind of restaurant Steve Ells used for inspiration before opening Chipotle. There are no fewer than 5 types of meat hot and ready for burrito building, and the kind owner encouraged us to sample them all. I think the bulk of the meat is pork. The Green is the owner's favorite and it had real spicy hotness that isn't for the weak. The Roja has a complexity almost like mole (but without any chocolate). The Azada was smokey and tender. We didn't bother to be bored with chicken and I didn't notice anything on the menu in terms of tofu sofritas. I did notice three types of beans (black, pinto and refried which had an unexpected hint of nutmeg or cinnamon) and your choice of cilantro-lime rice or red Mexican-style rice. I almost hate myself for constantly wanting to compare to Chipotle because flavor-wise Azada does take your tastebuds up a few notches, even with the guacamole which has a little something over Chipotle's perfectly serviceable guac. According to the workers, everything is made in-house. This includes the massive tortillas which were soft but lacked chewiness and seemed to disintegrate fairly easily. It also includes the Horchata which apparently isn't made from a mix but comes from real rice and spices. I support local businesses and see myself making a return visit for that familiar burrito or rice bowl that I could get in somewhat blander form at several ultimately unrelated fast casual restaurants around town.
(4)Adam P.
Great food, fresh tortillas and the verde beef burrito was awesome. Really nice and helpful staff made it worth 5 stars!
(5)Tim S.
Food is quite good, made from scratch with fresh ingredients, and the service is friendly and enthusiastic. Given the pollo, carnitas, and carne asada on the menu I'm surprised they don't offer tacos, but hey the burrito I ate was exemplary also. The interior of the place is disjointed and needs some work. The skylights let in a lot of great natural light, but they badly need a unifying color scheme and better flooring/decor.
(4)Gary W.
Just stopped in for first time. Not a fancy place but I enjoyed my pork burrito immensely. Very fresh and tasty ingredients. Homemade tortillas. Nice workers behind counter. Will come back for sure. Better than Chipotle.
(5)Jonathanandchrista N.
Being from Houston, I am all about my authentic Mexican food, and customary to primary belief, is hard to find in Colorado. Chipotle is NOT Mexican food.... So, Azadas, it was really good! I got the build your burrito, chicken with the lime cilantro rice, black beans, corn, salsa roja, cheese, sour cream and guac... My husband got the carne Asada burrito, lime rice, retried beans, salsa roja, sour cream and cheese. The tortillas are homemade, along with the salsas and guac, it was so flavorful and was really an excellent burrito. They also have homemade Horchata (a way to my heart!) that was authentic and delicious. The total for 2 burritos (1 with guac) an XL and med drink was $20.29. Not bad, not cheap, but good food for the price. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of the music they were playing. I don't care to have to listen to iggy izaela anytime or at any meal, but especially not when I'm trying to eat a delicious burrito, but hey that's just me! Overall, a definite must try.
(4)Dawn C.
I give this place 5 stars not because they are a 5 star restaurant, but because my entire family ate some of the best casual Mexican we've had for $24. We are from another major city with a huge Hispanic food presence, and this place easily competes with the best places back home. My husband had a barbacoa burrito and I had carnitas tacos and we were both happy with our choices. The chips and pico de gallo are top notch and were fresh even though we visited during off hours. Hopefully as this business gets more volume they are able to upgrade their dining area a bit. While it was very clean, it has the feel of a run down college pizza joint. Kudos for making such delicius food!
(5)Debbie B.
Great customer service. Not quite as good everything else as I'd hoped. I like the chicken here better than chipotle and I like that their tortillas are homemade. Only I'd like to see them raw to ensure they're made fresh here. I also like that they have Spanish rice and refried beans. Overall fresh and tasty.
(4)Pay P.
Super excellent friendly service and all the good ingredients were tops except the red enchilada sauce and refried beans
(4)Massimo P.
The place is a hole in the wall. The service is with a smile. I had the Verde plate. The meat was excellent and with just the right amount of spicy. The rice and beans were bland. Great value, I'd try it again.
(4)Erin M.
Hubby and I stopped in for a bite on our way back to Denver. Fellow Yelpers steered us to Azada and the comments and ratings were right on! I had the barbacoa plate, which is similar to a deconstructed burrito (meat, refried beans, rice and lettuce, pico, salsa, etc.). The meat was by far the best barbacoa I have ever tasted. It was tender and flavorful. The only thing that was disappointing to me was that I didn't have any left over! We ended with the sopapillas, which were drenched in delicious honey. The price was right and the amount of food for the money was a great value. The decor is not particularly exciting, but the restaurant is clean and well-kept. On a gorgeous day, it would be fun to sit outdoors and to get in some good people watching. Azada is in an adorable part of town and it wold be fun to browse and stroll after a meal.
(4)Christina S.
Holy crap on a cracker! When you see a Yelp listing with a 5-star average, you take note. Then you read the reviews and it sounds great! AND, they have sopapillas! No one has those where you're from! (No one even knows what they are in Illinois--I ask at every Mexican restaurant, and only 1 has known so far. LOL It's a New Mexico/AZ thing mostly.)The anticipation builds, knowing that it could all lead to disappointment if it doesn't live up to expectations. But, you're a free spirit, an adventurer, so you take a chance...albeit there's little risk when it's 5 stars, whatever, I'm trying to paint a picture here. Well, your adventuresome spirit is about to be rewarded my friend! Azada, with its rogue 'Z', hits the mark. You will not be disappointed today! And so, traveling through CO, we eagerly planned our stop at Azada. The pics looked a little divey-- it kind of is, but I'm down with that. It's actually like a divey, much more authentic, Chipotle; same concept. We'd heard how friendly the owner/employees were. They were indeed; charmed perhaps by my eager awkwardness, you say? Probably. ;) Many reviews mentioned being able to sample all the meats first-- you definitely can, but they are all so good, it does not really make your decision any easier. The majority of my time spent here was in deciding what kind of meat I would get. I decided on a bowl with half green chili, half red chili, and as far apart from each other as possible. I'm a purist. You can add all the usual suspects: beans (& they have some with chorizo), salsas, cheese, lettuce, potatoes, various rices, etc. The bowl, while not overflowing, was of adequate size and only $6. I could have handled a larger portion. What it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in flavor! The green chili pork (Colorado green chili) was spicy and bursting with flavor. Amazing. The red chili beef was fantastic as well. I'm a huge carne adovada fanatic (another New Mexican dish) and this was basically that, so I was over the moon. Hubby was equally pleased with his bowl as well. Another stop on our return trip was eminent. Of this, there was no debate. Also noteworthy, the horchata is made freshly every day, one if the best we've ever had. The sopapillas were $3.50 for 4 poofy pillows served with some delicious honey to drizzle over, and while they weren't the best ever, they were still damn good. I am not complaining one bit. They also make and sell their own homemade tortillas, bonus. I do have to stress again, although I favored the chilis, all the meats were delicious. For example, the carnitas, a roasted pork, had less seasoning than typical, but still robust in flavor, strong roasted flavor if that makes sense. In addition to the fairly large dining areas, there is a small 2 table patio outside, perfect if you have the pups with you, assuming other pups and bicycles are already occupying said patio. If that happens. Just walk half a block down to the park on the corner and dine al fresco! That's what we did and it was lovely. :-) As I said, a return trip would happen, and it did and I even bought some red and green chili with their respective meats by the pound to take back home in our cooler since I knew our fridge would be empty. (Who wants to cook or shop after a 20 hour car ride? Not this girl!) That was $15 a pound so I only got half a pound of each as it was kinda pricey. It held up well, even better really with all the flavors marrying. Yelpers nailed this one. I can't wait to try a burrito next time, hopefully and there will be many next times. If you stop, plan to shop. It's a really cute little area full of all kinds of retail shops, bakeries, costume shops, and so much more. I just don't think you can go wrong here. Oh, and they are working on a liquor license too, hello Ms. Margarita! ;) Yay for road trip adventures and excellent Yelping prowess! :))
(5)Wendy W.
Compared to chipotle this place was comparable. We walked in the place was small, which are never mind, not many people, kept clean and very friendly staff. My hubby ordered the Asada burritos and I had enchilada and a chili relleno. He said that the tortilla tasted authentic but the burrito was... A typical burrito. My enchiladas were great, Relleno was okay. The price is good we paid $17 for both of us (no drinks).
(3)Clayton C.
Back for seconds this morning. 18 months in COS and it's been a desert for Mexican food. A breath of fresh air. Not a fancy place, no liquor, but the food is Outstanding. Hand made tortillas - fantastic. Barbacoa brings tears. Best of the Springs hands down. Delicious.
(5)Sarah N.
FRESH is the operative word here. The friendly lady at the front let us taste all the meats before we ordered, and I ended up getting the verde version of the carnitas for my tacos. The process is similar to Chipotle and Garbanzo where you choose the toppings, but the best part is that all the tortillas are made in-house (both wheat and corn options). My 3 shells were more pliant and not as mealy as other places we've been. The husband was pleased with his rojo burrito - it was huge. Therefore, I think my only complaint is that a burrito order is much larger and filling than an order of tacos. The place is nothing fancy, but when we told the cashier we'd be dining in, she insisted that we pay for our food AFTER we had eaten. This was probably a sly move on her part because after we cleared and bused our own dishes, we decided to order some sopapillas. The same lady brought them to our table, and they were steaming and larger than most sopapillas I'd ever seen... Warm, chewy pillows drizzled with honey. Plenty of booth seating and a couple tables for larger groups. At 11:30AM on a Sunday, it was just us; by noon, there were several occupied tables. The ladies' room was spotless and outfitted with 2 stalls. They also sell their housemade tortillas by the half dozen or dozen. We'll be back!
(4)Sara T.
The food is some of the best Mexican I've had in colorado. The service was above and beyond friendly and quick. The atmosphere was fine. I wish they existed in denver bc I would definitely come back! I'll be sure to visit any time I'm in Colorado Springs! I highly recommend this place!
(5)Tim K.
I can't tell you how many times I've driven past Azada. But thanks to Mark E.'s review I made a point to go by this past Friday for lunch. It was dead which made ordering and receiving my food nice and quick. I was indecisive on what meat I wanted to order and an employee was nice enough to offer me samples. I went with the carnitas burrito. It was a hair smaller than a Chipotle burrito, and about the same price ($7 with tax). It was very tasty. There are many meat and salsa options, so you can dial your order in just how you want it. I would definitely eat at Azada again.
(3)Ofelia C.
I love Azada, the flavor is amazing! Don't why people tell about the decortion, that's not very important, the most important is flavor and quality, and Azada have both..
(5)Jeremy S.
Hole in the wall place but it is absolutely delicious! First time here and in Colorado springs. ...if I come back to town I'll definitely stop by here again.
(4)Nicole J.
Not a fancy restaurant but a perfect little lunch dive. Really enjoyed the open burrito style dining. Ingredients were hot and fresh and the food was really delicious...a lot for cheap.
(5)Brad K.
Very friendly and helpful. Fantastic pork and and beef...great seasoning. Salsas also great. building and decor is ok, but easy to access from downtown street. Highly recommend and will be back when in Co Springs.
(5)Joe P.
Family owned, family run, family recipes, family friendly. Some of the very best Mexican food in Colorado Springs. Not sure what to order? Ask to sample all their meats. They'll give you a culinary tour that will delight and amaze. This is the place that Chipotle wishes it could be when it grows up.
(5)Jim B.
Love this place. It's set up like Chipotle but with a much greater variety of delicious authentic meats. My personal favorite is the green chile pork burritos, but I haven't been disappointed with anything yet. Also, their sopaipillas are to die for, and a perfect way to finish off your meal. The place has a hole-in-the-wall sort of vibe, but it is clean and the staff is very friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.
(5)Amanda M.
This place was so, so. Burrito was very dry. The meat was only ok. They forgot my sons order. I asked about sopapilla's cause the guy at check out made it sound like they were commentary. He said they were four dollars. He said she (meaning the owner or person in charge) might give you an order due to my sons order snafu. But nope. They never came back. Decor was awful. We wouldn't return upon visiting the Springs.

I like to consider myself a food connoisseur. And this establishment did not disappoint the family atmosphere and delicious food satisfied me greatly. The owner was very welcoming. I would like to give a 5 star rating; however it occurred to me that they do not serve mozzarella sticks. I was very disappointed. Once mozzarella sticks are served I shall provide a 5 star review.
(4)Chuwy A.
Hold everything! Authentic Mexican food made with authentic Mexican ingredients what a concept! I got tired of paying $13 for a mediocre burrito from Chipotle or Quidobas, so I said "hey let's check out Asada Mexican Gill" and for the first time I was impressed with the authentic taste our friends there have going on. You can't go wrong with the red or green beef or pork selections there. But of course if you need a taste test to help you make up your mind our peeps there will be happy to hook you up. Oh and I almost forgot folks they make their own Tortillas (very nice touch) and all this down town, what more can you ask for! A good price you say? Why yes they have that too the same size burrito like Chiptle's will run you $6 now that a deal! This here place is a keeper! Llegenle! (Spanish for check it out
(5)Joseph D.
Got a plate with spicy Rojo pork and less spicy Chile Verde pork, rice, beans, pico De gallo, guac, sour cream, homemade tortilla, and their homemade horchata to drink. That came to $12, but let me tell you, you're not going to find better in CO springs. You know when the staff speaks broken English Spanglish it's going to be good. If you like good food at a good price, and don't care about decorations much then you'll give 4 stars too. Love that they let me taste all the meats since it was my first time there. It's basically like Chipotle the way you order but they kill chipotle.
(5)Paul P.
I travel all over the country and use yelp and other reviews to find good places to eat. Not many restaurants receive 5 stars from an overwhelming majority of people, but this place has. After my first visit I had to agree. Great food, great prices, friendly people... Now my second visit and a bookmarked place to go for Mexican food in the area... Love it! Thank you Yelp for finding this place for me! I had the lunch special the first day. 2 cheese enchiladas and a Chile relleno with cilantro lime rice and whole pinto beans. Freshly made horchata. The relleno was not smothered with sauce but had great flavor. I smothered it with med sauce (tomatillo). Today I am having a Verde burrito. The beef has incredible flavor. The tortillas are made on site as well, so this just adds to the flavor! The restaurant is a walk up to order and find a table type of place. Not a hole in the wall, but nicer than most Mexican counter style. The only complaint I have is the staff seem to stay in the back if nobody's at the counter. But the food and prices make up for that by far!
(5)Brady N.
Wanted to try something different and my idea of Mexican food was Taco Bell. I was a little skeptical about eating here since I knew I wouldn't have any idea what half the items on the menu were and I'm not a bean fan, I figured beans were in all Mexican dishes. When I got to the counter the lady there was extremely nice and she guessed it was my first time in, she let me sample each of the meats and I instantly knew I made the right decision. Everything was so delicious. I had the barbacoa and a rojo burrito. I did not realize how big they were going to be. Just one would have been the right mount. The price is very fair for the amount and quality of food you get. Definitely worth the $20 parking ticket.

First, who writes the reviews???? Must be the family and extended family..... Walked in and was immediately un - impressed....., couldn't be 4 or 5 stars.... Had to look again to make sure we were in the right place. Not crowded at the noon hour. Ordered my favorite, enchilada dinner and was told to pick seating. No appetizer, like chips and hot sauce. After some time, plate was brought out, luke warm, like the meal. Tortilla was like rubber, only cold....refried beans tasted like Campbell's pork and beans... Some nasty tasting red sauce covered the enchiladas. Could not stomach the meal. And it was VERY overpriced. Upshot??? Gave a two rating instead of a one because the girl that took the order smiled. Don't waste your time or your money.
(2)Rachel S.
Azadas Mexican Grill is amazing! Their food is excellent, service is friendly and informative and their barbacoa plate is phenomenal. Homemade tortillas and the best cilantro lime rice I've ever tasted. This our new favorite Mexican grill. The prices are very affordable and the servings are generous. Awesome food and service! It was the perfect meal after a few hours of hiking! The ladies gave my family and samples which was super helpful in making a decision on what to eat. We will definitely return!

I like Chipotle and Qdoba, but this place makes both of them essentially obsolete. It's the same basic format for a restaurant as Chipotle, with all the normal choices you'd make in constructing your burrito, but with a wider variety of choices (Mexican rice instead of just white, refried beans as well as black and pinto), and every single ingredient, from the guacamole to the cheese to the excellent selection of meats, are just way better tasting. Last time I had a Chile Relleno inside my burrito in lieu of meat. Out of this world. And the burritos cost about as much, if not less, than one at Chipotle or Qdoba. In addition, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Atmosphere leaves a little something to be desired, but I don't care. Oh, the horchata's good too.

I don't get the rave reviews. Underwhelming to disappointing from decor to cleanliness to attitude to food...just sort of dump. May be nice in Mexico but not here.

Had a vegetarian burrito here for the first time today and it was great. The employees are very friendly and the price was lower than others. I had heard a lot about this place from friends and I'm glad I checked it out!

The Food is fantastic, and the people are friendly. This is my new favorite place to eat in Springs. They let you sample everything. It's fantastic.

This place is the great! Love their food!

SUPER FAST! Cheap. The mexican lady with red hair is a sweeeeeet heart. They always give me free refills on Orchata. I love it. I usually get a Carne Asada. Homeade Tortillas are amazing. I usually don't compliment a tortilla. But you can taste the flavor. It's good! I love them. During lunch seems a bunch of College kids or High School kids during the rush. I don't mind. Kids will be kids. Food is great.

I think what's sets this place apart from other Mexican places in the Springs is how fresh the food is. Everything from the meats to the rice are very flavorful and made in house. It's kind of a Chipotle/Qdoba remix, but somehow seems more authentic. Regardless, glad I found this place and I'll definitely be coming back. My favorite of the meats is the Carnitas, but really they are all tasty. I was especially impressed with the refried beans cooked with Chorizo. Nice. Don't let the sparse interior turn you off. The staff is extremely friendly and is more than eager to let you sample everything. Take advantage of that so you can see how good everything is.

Amazingly good and very authentic. If you like it spicy, the Rojo pork is life changing.

Super friendly staff and delicious food. Definitely authentic Mexican food. All the ingredients are so fresh and they don't mind when customers sample food. Prices are reasonable too. Only $10 for a whole carne asada plate. Absolutely loved it and would recommend.

This place is a hole on the wall and like a lot of tiny places, it delivers great food. We were offered sample tastes of all the meats to help us choose. The green chile was yummy! We also enjoyed the roja pork and Carne Asada. Want a sweet treat? Sopapillas that are tasty and get this, look like the photo on the wall! Anyone who has seen Falling Down will get the importance of this:) almost forgot! Homemade tortillas!!!! They had be at hello... They had me at hello!

Tortillas? Amazing! Chicken? Delicious! Fillings? Abundant! Much better than Chipotle! The customer service is perfect and nice! Super nice guys here. Clean and great! Also before I came I read the reviews and one said no fountain drinks...they have them now! Absolutely a great little place!!!!

Got take out from this place tonight. Ordered over the phone and had no clue about menu but waitress talked me through everything. Got the steak burrito with all the fixings, enchilada with refried beans and Mexican rice and, and hard shelled taco for my little one. In total it was 21 bucks and the food was delicious.

Think Chipotle without the chain restaurant atmosphere. Located downtown in a cute little location. Menu is very straightforward. A handful of specialty dishes and then the main menu. Just like the fast casual 'Mexican' chain restaurants the rest of the menu is a simple concept. Burrito, tacos, or bowl for a set price. Choose your type of rice (Mexican or cilantro lime), beans (refried or whole), meat (carne asada, grilled chix, barbacoa, carnitas, or shredded beef). You can add cheese, sour cream, and guacamole (for a charge just like everywhere else). Simple menu, mimics the currently trendy quasi-Mexican places. However, Azada does make their own tortillas, which you can purchase in bulk as well. Azada, in my opinion, puts those chains to shame! More authentic, real cooks making the food, not a chain pushing out corporate ideas. Yay for local businesses!

Absolutely love this place. Everything is homemade and you can definitely taste it. I've been looking for an authentic Mexican place for a while and I think this is probably the most authentic Mexican place in the city. Owners are super friendly and let you try before you buy :) Will be eating at this hidden gem soon.

Best carnitas tacos and guacamole I've ever had, period. The best quality, excellent friendly service and very clean. I wish we had something close to this authentic great Mexican food in the Bay Area. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting great Mexican food.

Yum, and can I say yum again. It's such a wonderful homey atmosphere. the food was fantastic there's always a lot of people working so the service is always fast. And of course delicious. I will be back often.

This place is just around the corner from Chipotle, and it would be a shame if you bypassed it and put your money down for corporate food. This place is better, tastier with homemade tortillas and delicious ingredients, and family run to boot. It's just a few steps off the main drag and after you've tried it, you'll see you don't need to go back to Chipotle. And i actually like Chipotle, this is just way better.

The food was incredible! Everything was very fresh and homemade. The carnitas was amazing. The lady behind the counter was wonderful. 5/5!!

Very good Mexican. If you like Chipotle chain restaurants, their buritto was similar in size, price and taste. Staff courteous and helpful. Atmosphere is casual. Decor simple.

Just like everyone else said. Fresh. Delicious. Inexpensive and worth every penny! A definite quick stop for awesome Mexican food!

This is my new favorite burrito place in Colorado Springs. Using a Chipotle-type format, Azada puts together burritos that will make Chipotle cry itself to sleep at night. Everything is made fresh and in-house, and the difference in quality is evident. Their salsas are deliciously spicy and flavorful, the rojo pork is amazingly tender and seasoned, and their homemade tortillas are incredible. To top things off, the staff are incredibly friendly, and for $6.50 a burrito, I have no reason to go to any other restaurant for burritos. Stop by and support this incredible little gem!

Oh. My. Goodness. SOOOOOO good! Loved the build your own burrito and the pork was the best I've had anywhere.

Love this place. Me and some friends are storm chasers and after a bad day of storms not being the kind we want we decided to head back to Amarillo coming through Colorado Springs. On route we decided to get some food. Being that I love to try local resturants when I found this place. Needless to say I loved it. 3 out of 4 of us liked it a lot. Price is more than fine for the cost which was next to nothing and I think the quality was very good as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Will be back when back up this way.

The green chili is DELICIOUS. Good job. I will go back again for sure! The ladies working actually let us try the different meat choices before we ordered our food. This really helped me decide on the pork green chili. Yummy!

After a long and stressful day on vacation we went to Azada. The staff was so pleasant and gave us samples of the different meats. They were all delicious. The food was great tortillas were fresh and everyone loves their food. Don't forget to get the sopapillas, best I have had in years.
(5)Rachel B.
THE best burrito I've ever had! I love this place. The staff is friendly and informative, the food is fresh and tasty, and it's well priced. I go here any chance I get. YUM!

I lived in Tucson for two years and this is very close to the taste you get in the southwest of the US and California. Easily the best Mexican food I've eaten in Colorado. I will be a repeat customer.
